Visit the web app or install the Chrome extension. Sign in with Google to get 5 free credits. Then upload a screenshot, pick a template, and hit Generate.
No. The web app works in any modern browser. The Chrome extension is optional and provides the same functionality as a browser toolbar button.
PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF. Maximum file size is 20MB. Larger images are automatically resized for processing.
Each generation costs 1 credit and produces 2 unique visual variations. You get 5 free credits when you sign up. Your credits work across both the web app and Chrome extension.
All image editing tools (crop, resize, rotate, brightness/contrast, background removal) are completely free. Direct export of your original image is free (10 per day). Only AI generation costs credits.
Yes. Credit packs are available for purchase within the app. Click your profile avatar and select "Buy Credits" to see available options.
If the generation fails entirely on our end, the credit is not deducted. If partial results are returned (e.g., 1 of 2 variations), the credit is still consumed since you received usable output.
The first regeneration per generation is free. After that, each regeneration costs 1 credit.
MarkItUp uses Google Gemini for both text analysis (writing headlines and marketing copy) and image generation (creating the visual). Everything runs server-side — no data is processed on your device.
AI image generation can occasionally produce misspellings or text artifacts. This is a known limitation of current AI models. We recommend reviewing all generated text before publishing. You can regenerate individual variations if the text isn't right.
Yes. In the Export tab, choose between Standard (1K) for faster generation or High (2K) for higher resolution output. The final export size is determined by the output size preset you select.
The highlight tool lets you draw on your screenshot to indicate areas you want the AI to focus on. Use the brush or rectangle tool to mark regions, and the AI will create callouts and emphasis around those areas.
PNG and JPEG. You can adjust JPEG quality in the export settings. Choose from 15+ preset sizes for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Product Hunt, Chrome Web Store, and more.
Yes. You retain full rights to any images you generate with MarkItUp. Use them for marketing, social media, websites, presentations, app stores, and any commercial purpose. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Free-credit users see a small MarkItUp watermark on exported images. Purchasing any credit pack removes the watermark from all future exports permanently.
AI Extend uses AI to naturally fill the edges of your image when switching to a different aspect ratio. Instead of cropping (which loses content), AI Extend generates new content that seamlessly continues the scene. It costs 1 credit.
Brand Kit lets you save your brand colors, logo, tagline, and font style. When you generate with a Brand Kit selected, the AI incorporates your brand elements into the visual. Brand Kit is available for paid users.
We store your Google account info (email, name, profile photo) for authentication and your credit balance. Uploaded images are sent to Google Gemini for processing but are not stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. Contact us at smythmyke@gmail.com and we'll delete your account and all associated data within 48 hours.
No. Your data is never sold or shared. Images are sent to Google Gemini solely for AI processing. We do not use your images for training or any other purpose.
