How MarkItUp uses artificial intelligence and what you should know.

How It Works

MarkItUp uses a two-step AI pipeline powered by Google Gemini to transform your screenshots into marketing visuals:

Step 1 — Text Analysis: Your screenshot and description are analyzed by AI to generate headlines, subheadlines, and marketing copy tailored to your chosen template style.
Step 2 — Image Generation: The AI creates a complete marketing visual by composing your screenshot with the generated text, decorative elements, and visual effects defined by the template.

Both steps run entirely on Google's servers. Your images are sent to Google Gemini for processing and are subject to Google's AI terms of service.

Known Limitations

AI-generated content is not perfect. You should be aware of the following limitations:

Text accuracy: Generated text may contain misspellings, grammatical errors, or nonsensical phrases. AI image generation models sometimes produce text that looks correct at a glance but contains subtle errors.
Visual artifacts: Generated images may contain distortions, unnatural elements, or inconsistencies in lighting, perspective, or style.
Content interpretation: The AI may not always accurately interpret your description or highlight the areas you intended. Results vary between generations.
Style consistency: While templates define a visual direction, the AI's interpretation can vary. Two generations with the same inputs may produce different results.

Your Responsibilities

When using MarkItUp's AI-generated content, you are responsible for:

Reviewing all output before publishing, sharing, or using in any professional context. Check text for accuracy, spelling, and appropriateness.
Verifying claims made in generated marketing copy. The AI writes persuasive text based on your description, but it may make claims that aren't accurate about your product.
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies regarding AI-generated content in your jurisdiction.
Disclosing AI use where required by law or platform policy. Some contexts may require you to label content as AI-generated.

Commercial Use

You retain full rights to the images you generate with MarkItUp and may use them for any commercial purpose, including marketing materials, social media, websites, app stores, and presentations. However, MarkItUp does not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from intellectual property concerns. Use your judgement and review outputs carefully.

Data Handling

Your uploaded images and descriptions are sent to Google Gemini for AI processing. We do not store your images on our servers. For full details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
